Bighorn National Forest, WY

June 29
We got up early and found it a bit chilly, the low 40s. The rest of our drive west through Bighorn NF was awesome. We were heading back down in elevation to about 4200 ft. We wound through sheer canyons, green hills strew with boulders, pine forests and those amazing flowering meadows. Once again the rock layers were labeled. In the distance we saw a ridge with a very obvious fold of the rock layers. It is hard to imagine the geologic forces necessary to do that. Once out of the national forest we once again entered the bleak areas of Wyoming. We passed a farmer who had a team of horses instead of a tractor pulling his old farm machinery down the road.

Here are the pictures.
