Our 3rd Cross-Country Trip
We can hardly believe it! This is our third yearly cross-country trip. It seems like we were just dreaming about showing our boys the incredible variety in this great country and figuring out how exactly to do that.
Now we already have two of these trips under our belt. Not yet experts, but much more confident, this time we have planned an ambitious 60 day itinerary. After all, William will be officially retired from the Army after 30 years so there is no rush to get back home! So, from June 21 to August 21, 2014 we will once again be on the road, circling the continental USA clockwise along its perimeter.
This time we are leaving the bikes and kayaks at home. We found we don’t use our bicycles much during our trips and we haven’t planned any real kayaking excursions this year.
We have significantly upgraded our solar panels and battery charging capability. During the 60 or so nights on the road we will have only 1 night of actual 110V power and water hookup. We are effectively boondocking for 2 months.

The Davids' Cross-Country Trip 
Good morning David family from your Aunt Shirley and Uncle Hank. We have been visiting in HIghlands when your announcement of your summer trip arrived. (We are heading home on June 17th.) We noticed that you are going to be passing most likely within a 1/2 mile of us as you travel from Crater Lake on up to Mt. St Helens. We would love the opportunity to see you all if only for a few minutes. Love to you all Shirley
